I thought I would give you guys a little blurb about us, our shop and what we do.
Our "shop" consists of myself, my hubby and our little assistant, our son Rheon (2 years old).
Hubby designs and creates all our beaded jewelry (while watching football) and Rheon counts our beads and sorts them by colour.
It is a very important job that he takes very seriously.
He also gives us his final word, when we ask him if he likes a necklace.
His answer is always: "WOW!", which is definitely an ego booster.
I design and create all the non beaded jewelry and run the shop.
When we are not working in our "shop", we are working at our full time jobs, both at Law Firms.
Having been raised in a very crafty family, (my parents and 2 sisters are very artistic), doing something creative every day is very important to me.
Besides spending quality family time, jewelry making gives us the opportunity to unwind from our full time jobs and put our creative caps on.
Sharing our creations with the rest of the world is an added bonus.
Receiving e-mails from customers saying how much they loved our jewelry or from Brides saying we made their weddings even more special, warms our hearts and still brings tears to my eyes.
We got into making jewelry a few years ago, were self taught and made jewelry for Christmas and Birthday gifts for family members.
Co-workers and friends started asking where they could buy our creations and we started selling locally, to people we knew.
Our shop first began when I was on Mat Leave with Rheon.
I started by selling items that I sewed.
I quickly realized that even though I was good at sewing, I didn't enjoy it and didn't see myself making a lot to sell.
I decided to put our jewelry in our shop.
Months later, we received a ton of wedding orders to make jewelry for Bridesmaids.
That was how our shop took off the ground.
2 years later, our shop keeps us fairly busy.
We converted our spare bedroom into an office and studio space and sell to customers from all over the world.
Our jewelry is worn by people ranging from America to Finland and New Zealand.
We had a very successful Christmas season and are looking forward to a very busy 2011.
Just recently, we launched our Children's Jewelry Line, which is still in the works but will be adding a ton of new creations this year.In addition to selling on Etsy, we sell on 2 other online sites.
Our shops have a variety of creations that are beautiful and affordable.
We sell informal jewelry, that you can wear on an everyday basis and formal jewelry for that special night out with your lover or for weddings.
