Or, perhaps you don't think you're creative at all.
My guess is that most people (all of us WB Talented folk included), have been in each of these categories at some point in their lives.
Me personally? I never really considered myself to be the creative type. I enjoyed stationary, and making cards (via the computer, not scrapbooking) all growing up. I had a big imagination, and was quite musical. I enjoyed making some of the items for my wedding in 2008, and always envied my super creative and talented Grandma and cousin. Oh, and I LOVED Etsy. I bought tons from Etsy, and spread the word of Etsy to all of my friends (many of whom have now become hooked on it, too -- sorry, credit cards everywhere)! Never (in a million years) did I think that I would have my own little shop on Etsy!
But, lo-and-behold, here I am. And do you know what? I didn't even mean for it to happen. I saw a yarn wreath on a blog, and had some free time and a bare door, and thought that I would try my hand at making one. Off to Michael's I went, bought a wreath form, some teal yarn, a few colours of felt, and a glue gun. Burned a ton of fingertips, made my first few felt flowers, put it all together, and voila!
Now. As you can see, it's not the prettiest wreath I've never made. My techniques were quite amateur, and I don't even have it on my door anymore because I cringe. It was, however, the start of something wonderful! I posted the picture above to my personal Facebook page, and almost immediately began to get requests to make them for others. From November 2010 - February 2011, I sold them locally, and even shipped a few within Canada. It was then that I decided to broaden my market and open my little shop on Etsy.
The moral of my story? I never thought I was creative, nor did I think I was particularly crafty. Then, one day I looked at something and thought it was within my abilities to make one for myself.
So. Readers. My challenge to you: try something new this week! Explore the creativity that you may or may not even realise you have.
I have two more posts planned on this topic. Next Monday: ways to access your creativity!
Happy creating, my friends!

Love it Katie! So much fun to see your progress, even though I still think your first wreath is really quite lovely. :)
