Winter in July

It's my reality!

So while you were all dying of the heat (or so I hear on FB)
we were out making snowmen this morning!
We don't get much snow around here so my poor wee ones were dressed in a
mishmash of whatever I could find to keep them dry.
My daughter's "snowpants" are actually one of my Envirosax shopping bags...
who would've thought they would come in so handy!
And my son & I were wearing rain boots.

My poor lemon tree!

So next year I'm going to be more prepared.
(Or so I tell myself!)
I bought this adorable hat & scarf combo for my daughter from  HEARTSY.
It was a total steal & I can't wait to get it. Kind of wishing I had had it for today...

It's to go with this jacket. Haven't made it yet but I
do have the pattern.

So although it might be a little late in the season for me it's the perfect
time for all of you to start thinking of toasty knits
to keep your wee ones warm next winter.

Here are some great finds I found in some of our WBer's shops.

Enjoy the sunshine because soon it'll be winter for you
& it'll be my turn to bask in the sunshine!

  2. I'm in Christchurch, New Zealand. Today's snow has beaten all sorts of records & hasn't been seen in years! So much fun & hilarious how the city came to a total standstill.

  3. That Heidi and Finn pattern is adorable!! As are you and your kiddos, of course. Knitting and crocheting is so for beyond my understanding!

  5. Heartfelt... I love that pattern too & would've made it this year but my silly girl still isn't walking (let alone standing!) at 14 months. For some reason I see this jacket on a baby in motion so will wait til next winter. Although I am thinking of making a spring version in a fun print... might be time to start stalking my fave Etsy fabric shops!
