Top 5 Reasons to Love the Dog Days of Summer

I've decided to make a conscious effort to become more optimistic. So every month I'm going to come up with top five reasons why something is great. Sometimes it might be a bit of a stretch, but so be it. So here we go! This summer, at least where I live in the country, has been ridiculously hot and humid, pretty much every day. I've always loved the heat, but even I can admit it's been a bit crazy. So I've decided I'm going to look at the bright side. #5. No shoving my post-baby body into a pair of tight jeans It's too hot for jeans. Or any pants. I have declared this summer "pants free". Long flowy (and flattering) dresses and skirts need only apply. #4. Sweat gives you a natural 'glow' Nothing like the subtle sheen of sweat to give you a little free shimmer in the day. Just as long as it doesn't appear through the clothing (which brings me back to the cute summer dresses) #3. My toes have a valid reason to look pretty again Painting my toenails in the winter always seemed a little unnecessary. But with this heat demanding that my toes be on display, it's only a matter of courtesy to the rest of society that they look at least somewhat presentable. #2. Unabashed pool parties! Yes, I may still have this post-baby body, but when it's this hot, I don't care what it looks like in a bathing suit. Which means I can have a lot more fun when I hang out by your pool (because I'm not lucky enough to have one myself). But if you say anything about it I'll kill you. #1. Windows down - cheesy music up! The heat gives me a great excuse to roll down the windows in my car and then blast crazy music out of it. Looking for some Copa Cabana? You don't have to ask me twice! Although these days it's mostly Raffi I'm blasting, but hey, the guy's got some catchy tunes! Ah, I feel better already. I hope you do too! And in honour of the heat, here's a summer themed treasury (that wasn't made by me, just enjoyed by me). Julia Fuzzy Funk Designs www.facebook.com/fuzzyfunkdesigns www.fuzzyfunkdesigns.com
