Happy Halloween!It's my favourite holiday - a chance to show off your creative side and turn into someone (or something) completely different!
One year in university I decided to get very crafty. I found these feather covered birds at a craft store and decided I would be Tippi Hedren from The Birds. So I got the birds and painted them black. Found a dress at a thrift store that I thought suited the era. Found a short blonde wig that I painstakingly brushed out so it would look similar. Then I glued the birds all over to me to look like they were attacking me.
I was quite proud of my accomplishments! And then I watched Party of Five (yes, I know I am dating myself here).
It was a Halloween Episode. And the character (named Julia, of course) decided that she would also be Tippi Hedren from The Birds. And her costume was awesome! She had birds attached to wires and coming at her from all angles.
What were the odds? That not only someone else went with the same costume idea for no reason (it wasn't as if it were an anniversary or anything) but that her name was Julia? Just my luck, I guess!
Anyway, luckily that didn't deter me from wanting to keep being crafty and creative, especially when it comes to Halloween. And it goes to show that it's hard to have an original idea, so you just have to make things your own.
